چکیده

Anaerobic co-digestion (AcoD) has been a widely accepted method to treat food waste (FW) and sewage sludge (SS). However, there is knowledge gap regarding the key speciation transformation of nitrogen sulfur in AcoD. Here, we explored changes (N) (S) compounds liquid digestion biogas, as well composition microbial community structure related metabolic functions. The results showed that H2S biogas was main form S early stage, then, it converted into SO42− SO32−, while NH3 NH4+ were forms N during In addition, bacterial diversity associated with compounds; Syntrophomonas Aminobacterium positively correlated H2S, NH3, Saccharibacteria_genera_incertae_sedis, Candidatus_Cloacamonas Thermomonas NO2−. Additionally, FAPROTAX prediction functional metabolism different from SS inoculum after This study provides detailed information conversion AcoD, which could lay foundation for subsequent regulation mechanism methanogenic process.

Anaerobic co-digestion of coffee waste and sewage sludge.

The feasibility of the anaerobic co-digestion of coffee solid waste and sewage sludge was assessed. Five different solid wastes with different chemical properties were studied in mesophilic batch assays, providing basic data on the methane production, reduction of total and volatile solids and hydrolysis rate constant. Most of the wastes had a methane yield of 0.24-0.28 m3 CH4(STP)/kg VS(initia...

Simultaneous treatment of sewage sludge and food waste by the unified high-rate anaerobic digestion system.

This study aimed to evaluate the performance of the unified high-rate anaerobic digestion (UHAD) system treating co-substrate of sewage sludge and food waste. A 24-hr operating sequence consisted of four steps including fill, react, settle, and draw. The effects of co-substrate and organic loading rate (OLR) on the performance were investigated to verify the system applicability. In each OLR, t...

Anaerobic Co-Digestion of Duckweed (Lemna Gibba) and Waste Activated Sludge

In this study duckweed (Lemna gibba) and waste activated sludge (WAS) were co-digested in different proportions with acclimatized anaerobic granular sludge (AAGS) in mesophilic conditions. The aim was to evaluate if the co-digestion could lead to an increased efficiency of methane production compared to digestion of waste activated sludge alone. Results indicate that co-digestion with both duck...

Anaerobic co-digestion of algal sludge and waste paper to produce methane.

The unbalanced nutrients of algal sludge (low C/N ratio) were regarded as an important limitation factor to anaerobic digestion process. Adding high carbon content of waste paper in algal sludge feedstock to have a balanced C/N ratio was undertaken in this study. The results showed adding 50% (based on volatile solid) of waste paper in algal sludge feedstock increased the methane production rat...
